Born Elizabeth Alexandra Mary, Princess Elizabeth of York, was the daughter of the Duke and Duchess of York (later King George VI and Queen Elizabeth I).

She was named after her own mother, Queen Elizabeth I. Her middle name Alexandra is after her paternal great-grandmother whom passed away six months prior to her birth and her second middle name Mary is after her paternal grandmother. The Queen often went by Lilibet with close family and friends. 

Following her father’s passing she overtook the thrown at the young age of 25. She reigned as the Queen of England from February 6, 1952 until her passing in September 8, 2022. She was surrounded by her loving family at Balmoral Castle.
