Today is my birthday! Milestone 25! To celebrate the day I thought I’d introduce myself and share my own name story.

My name is Margaret but most of the time I go by Maggie. I was born prematurely at 29 weeks weighing 4pds 11oz which is how I got my name.

Due to being so premature my mother didn’t have time to search for names; but when she realized my weight matched her Grammy’s birthdate (April 11th) it felt right. They were always so close growing up so my mom loved the idea of honoring her. So in a way I basically named myself. We even look a bit alike, don’t you think?

Grmmy Margaret however went by Peg. While we share the same first name, I’ve always loved that we have different nicknames to provide a bit of individuality.

I am so happy to be named after someone my mother loved and looked up to. While I never met my great grandmother, I know I have a bond with her no one else does. To be able to carry her name nd keep her memory alive.
